MoonJam is an online Game Jam event hosted and funded by MOONMOON, where his subscribers have 72 hours to create a game designed around a theme that is only revealed once the event begins.

2022 SUMMER WINNERS

  1. Lord's Destiny
    • Created by WraithChaser and SkeletalGadget
    • Trek through the dragon's castle and save the princess! Lord's Destiny is an action platformer where you control the Knight throughout multiple levels! Slash through obstacles and enemies alike to reach the end door! This is the free version, and will be displaying ads during gameplay. Players will be allowed to purchase in-game currency to gain cosmetics and power up their character.

  2. Squeaky Rafts
    • Created by kujukuju & smolboisad
    • Squeaky Rafts is a multiplayer survival game. You've crash landed on a remote island (what a travesty) and your goal is to reach the mainland. Use the help of the native gloopglaps to survive the journey!

  3. Spin Shift
    • Created by addaline, CutestBichAlive, TeaRacer, valerievulps
    • Spin Shift is a platformer focused on speed. You play as the Spin Shifter who can roll along walls, floors, and ceilings, with 2 roll actions; Clockwise roll and Counterclockwise roll. Use rolling, jumps, and gear-kicks by slamming into reverse to navigate through a handful of stages, as you grapple with shades that cling to your ankles.

What is a Game Jam?

Game Jams are usually a 48 hour event made specifically for the creation of video games. However, for this Game Jam you will have 72 hours. Lastly, remember to get plenty of sleep and food, because the last thing we want is for you to hurt yourself.

Who should participate?

Anyone who would like to make a video game, whether it be the visuals, programming, writer, or sound design.

Does my game have to be 3D?

No, you can make any game you want to in any dimension.

What do I need to submit?

You will need to submit the entire project containing your source code and assets, a short description of your game, and a cover photo.

How do I submit my game?

The team leader will be given the option to upload a zip archive of your project on the submission page. We will accept compressed archives (.zip, .rar, .tar, .gz). If you run into issues or expect any issues regarding submitting your project, please reach out to organizers before the submission deadline.

Why do I need to submit the source code?

We will inspect and approve your submission before it is played by judges to ensure you aren’t doing anything malicious. We will not redistribute your project and it remains your intellectual property.

What Game Engine should I use?

You can use any game engine that you desire, but please tell us which engine you are using if it is not listed on the Pre-Approved Game Engine List. Please be mindful of the rules and conditions of the game engine you are using. For example, if your engine has certain license agreements and at what amount of money do you need to start paying the engine developers.

How can I contact the organizers?

You should ask in the #game_dev channel on the subscriber Discord. If you have a more private question you can message an organizer privately via Discord.
